On the Passing of a Poet

Norma Sadler

“The Poet is dead!”

“The Poet is dead!”

He said.

“The light has gone out,”

She said.

“It is more than the light

And more than the darkness

And it is neither or both,”

Said the Muse.

“What then?”

Asked the white hen

Beside the red wheelbarrow.
